Seaward Supports Two Keystone Shipping Company MARAD USNS Turbo-Activations

Keystone Shipping Company contracted Seaward Marine Services to provide diving services in support of two separate MARAD USNS Turbo-Activations is Charleston, SC. Turbo-Activations are no-notice readiness exercises for the prepositioned ships to get the vessels tested and underway within 96 hours.

Ready Reserve Ships MV Cape Domingo and MV Cape Decision were turbo activated by the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) August 28, 2020. Seaward Marine Services mobilized a team homebased in Norfolk Virginia to complete the full underwater hull cleaning of MV Cape Decision September 1-3 and partial cleaning of Cape Domingo including propellers, rudders, bow thrusters, stern thrusters, sea chest gratings, transducers, and appendages September 4-5.
